Family Communion

Step-by-step instructions on how to take Communion as a family, and an accompanying prayer guide.

  • Read Together:
    "The Lord Jesus... took bread... and said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way... 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this... in remembrance of me.'"
    — 1 Corinthians 11:23–26

    Break the Bread.
    Say together: "Jesus, thank You for giving Your body for us."

    Everyone eats together.

    Open the Drink.
    Say together: "Jesus, thank You for Your blood, which brings us forgiveness and new life."

    Everyone drinks together.

    Guided Prayer:
    Lord Jesus, thank You for Your love. Thank You for forgiving our sins, making us new, and welcoming us into Your family. Help us to love You with all our hearts and to love one another as You have loved us. Fill our home with Your peace, joy, and presence. Strengthen us to follow You each day and to share Your love with others.

    Together:
    Amen.
